Something went wrong overnight in your potion shop. Not a demon. Not a fire. Just 2,080 numbered bottles on the floor, each with a hand-written name and one correct shelf. Alchemess: Tidy Up Your Potion Shop! is a first-person cozy loop from Dan Fury and Sunny, published by Techplay: pick up, read, walk, shelve, breathe. Steam and Epic get it on September 17, 2026 for $5.99 (10% off at launch). Wishlist if sorting and soft light are your dopamine. Skip it if you need a fail state.

The fantasy is the floor

Official copy barely oversells. You pick bottles up, carry them, and match them to 26 themed shelves (Alpha through Omega, plus Sun and Moon). Wrong slot? Nothing explodes. Pull it out and try again. Right slot? Soft green lock, permanent, done.

That is the whole game. It turns out that is plenty.

The heap uses real physics. Walk through and bottles part, roll, and settle. Pull one from the middle and the stack notices. Liquid sloshes. Glass catches candlelight and the domes above. The studio spent the budget on "bottle as object," not a tragic mentor cutscene.

Labels you will actually read

Every bottle runs No 1 to No 2080, built from 260 hand-written names across eight vessel types. The press kit leans on letterpress vibes: aged parchment, shelf-letter watermark, vermillion drop cap. No AI labels. You are meant to pick a flask up and read it.

Names stay funny on purpose. Potion of Attracting Guardian Angels. Elixir of the Lich Who Just Wants a Hug. Tonic of Invisible Until the Bill Arrives. Shelves group by theme, so tidying is also browsing a comedy index: Alpha for beginnings, Zeta for sleep, Kappa for ghosts, Sigma for Goblin Economics, Omega for dramatic exits. Cozy design with a writer in the room. Not gray loot. A joke grimoire.

Solo calm, couch chaos, optional races

Solo and co-op share soft rules: no timer, no score, no fail state. Autosave every ten seconds, mess included. Close mid-heap and the roommate shop is still there tomorrow.

Co-op is the Discord-seller. Host opens a shop, reads a six-character room code, friends type it. Online, split-screen, or mixed. Up to four people shoving the same pile. Steam and Epic cross-play on day one via Epic Online Services, no Epic account required.

Sun vs Moon is the optional versus mode. Mirrored halves, 13 shelves and 1,040 slots each, timed and scored. Couch can share a side while online friends take the other. Versus never touches your career shop, which is the correct moral choice.

If you liked the shared-screen itch in Orbitals, Alchemess aims at the same nerve with a quieter fantasy. Less anime chase. More "why is my Moon bottle in Phi."

Soft systems, loud screenshots

Three modes slide from numbered slot tags to a shop that hides colors until you earn them, plus Purist with no help. Carry capacity starts at five bottles and climbs toward fifteen as shelves finish. Twenty licensed tracks unlock song by song. Full controller support, Steam Cloud, DLSS 4 and FSR 4.1.1 if your GPU cares. Potion names and shelf titles live as plain text, so you can rename, retitle, or translate the shop without fighting the build.

September 2026 is loud. Alchemess is not chasing Task Bar Hero concurrent fireworks or WARDOGS weekend headlines. It wants a niche Steam already pays: short-session tactile toys, strong stills, low social friction. Wishlist math is simple: Discord-proof screenshots, a pitch your non-gamer partner gets, co-op without a raid night, a price like a latte.

The risk is familiar. Sorting can feel like work cosplay after hour three. Alchemess bets readable jokes, dome light, and the permanent click of a correct shelf will outrun chore energy. Sun vs Moon exists for the friend who needs a winner. Everyone else can tidy forever.

Who should wishlist before the 17th

  • Cozy completionists who feel dopamine when a stack becomes a grid.
  • Couch co-op households that want something softer than a shooter and denser than a party minigame.
  • Screenshot collectors who will farm golden hour through those domes.
  • Mod-curious tidiers ready to rename every tonic.

Skip it if you need combat pressure, extraction stakes, or a battle pass. Alchemess is a shop. The boss is the floor.

Full release, not Early Access. Windows 10/11. Steam wishlists are open; Epic lands the same day. Fact sheet and stills live on the Alchemess press kit. Carve ninety minutes for a purple bottle and a quiet shelf. The loud games will still be loud when you get back.
